RONALD S. ROSEN
Mr. Rosen is one of the preeminent lawyers specializing in entertainment, intellectual property (copyright and trademark) and commercial litigation. He is the author of the recently published Music and Copyright by Oxford University Press. In his career, Mr. Rosen has represented many leading figures, studios and companies in the entertainment industry in high‑profile cases. He is a leading expert in copyright litigation and other disputes involving creative works, including musical compositions, motion pictures and television productions. He has protected the interests and integrity of authors, studios and other creative persons.
In addition to his considerable experience as a trial lawyer, Mr. Rosen has been responsible for both establishing and clarifying legal principles in his work before appellate courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers, and a member of its National Moot Court Competition Committee.
Mr. Rosen participates in a panel of specialist copyright and intellectual property law arbitrators for the Association of International Collective Management of Audiovisual Works (AGICOA).
Having spent much of his life studying music, Mr. Rosen is particularly qualified to address virtually all issues involving the copyright protection of musical works and the difficult issues which arise in music infringement litigation. He also assists clients in revising and rewriting musical scores to avoid infringing other works.
Mr. Rosen participates in a panel of specialist copyright and intellectual property law arbitrators for the Association of International Collective Management of Audiovisual Works (AGICOA).

Lectures
Over a fulfilling and productive career, Mr. Rosen has lectured at Stanford Law School, Georgetown Law Center, University of Southern California Law Center and the University of California at Los Angeles. For 17 years, he gave annual lectures on Litigating Copyright Trademarks and Fair Competition Cases for the Practising Law Institute. He has also given numerous lectures for California Continuing Education of the Bar and The Association Littéraire et Artistique Internationale (ALAI) in Antwerp, Belgium. At the 1998 Cannes Film Festival, he spoke on international arbitration for the International Chamber of Commerce and the International Bar Association. In 2001 he lectured at Columbia University Law School for ALAI before an international group of lawyers, corporate executives and other professionals on the issues arising from overlap of copyright and trademark protections.
Civic Activities
For over 20 years, Mr. Rosen has been actively involved with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, serving as vice president, president and now as chairman emeritus. He has also devoted time to the education of young people and has been active in the Young Musician's Foundation and the ad hoc committee for the Arnold Schoenberg Institute at the University of California.
