Entertainment Department head Gary Concoff co-chaired a special program on the film industry at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15, 2009, titled

Optimism In the Film Industry During Challenging Times:
Solutions For Film Financing and Distribution

The program focused on solutions to the difficulties of finance, production and distribution in our current economy. Gary's opening remarks were titled "Keep Your Sunny Side Up!"

In addition, in an article titled "Lawyers Show Cannes-Do Attitude," the Los Angeles Business Journal noted that Gary is one of a handful of L.A. entertainment lawyers who trek to Cannes every spring to negotiate film financing deals. Gary noted, "If you spend your life structuring and negotiating deals, this is like the heaven of deals."
